on the 20th Biennial Conference
held in conjunction with the Australian Soil Science Society Meeting
Adelaide November 7th 2006
The 2006
biennial Conference of the ACMS meeting was included within the
Conference of the Australian Society Of Soil Science in Adelaide. Bob
Gilkes chaired the session, at which Leigh Sullivan spoke on
schwertmannite and its effect on water quality in
acid sulfate soils, and Cameron Wearing delivered a paper on the nature
and stability of clay domains in soils. John Keeling reported a
new variety of asbestos from Rowland
Flat in the Adelaide Hills, and on a philosophical note, Jock
Churchman's topic was "W(h)ither soil mineralogy"
(a positive view). The session concluded with Rob
Fitzpatrick's paper on soil mineralogy in forensic investigations.
